With this being the second domestic DVD release of The Smurfs And The Magic Flute, I had some hopes that there would be improvement over the earlier Televista DVD release. Unfortunately, those hopes were all dashed when I watched it. Granted, the video transfer was better, but that's all I can say about it. The terrible thing about this release is that ALL THE DIALOGUE AND SONG LYRICS HAVE BEEN RE-RECORDED...AND THEY SOUNDED VERY DIFFERENT!!! The new voice actors for this ranged from passable to very terrible, and the new lyrics for familiar songs like "Just Like Their Names" and "Peewit Wants A Smurf" were really bad to listen to. I wouldn't recommend getting this version unless you're very desperate to have this in your collection.
