|First Appearance||Season 7 ("Tis The Season To Be Smurfy")|
The Christmas Thief is an unnamed character that appears in the cartoon special "'Tis The Season To Be Smurfy". He is a thief who appears in a human village around Christmas looking for rich people to steal their bags of gold from, usually through pickpocketing. During one such attempt, Sassette and Grandpa Smurf had spotted the thief, and the elderly Smurf threw an apple at him that knocked the bag of gold out of his hand while he disappeared into the crowd. Later on at night, while the Smurfs were passing through the town in order to reach Gustav's house to save his wife Elise, the thief had stolen a bag of gold from Hans' father and made a run for his hideout. However, Hefty had spotted the thief and chased him into the hideout with Brainy following him. By accident, the two Smurfs posed as spirits to frighten the thief into giving back the gold that he had taken, and so as Hans' father brought guards to Gustav's house to arrest him for the theft, the real thief confessed that he was the one responsible and turned himself in. Fortunately for the thief, Hans' father did not press any charges against him.
