Then Hefty tricks Gargamel to lean his face closer so he could sock him in the nose. This only makes Gargamel irritated as he takes his three captive Smurfs inside and put them in a cage where he prepares for their dinner date. Of course [[Azrael]] is so full of hungry eyes just looking at the Smurfs that he doesn't notice his tail knocking a vial of chemicals into a cauldron of other chemicals, causing an explosion which propels the cage of Smurfs out the window, allowing them to run for safety. Gargamel at first scolds his cat for his carelessness, but seeing that his prey is gone, he tells Azrael that everything is going just as he has planned, so now they can move to the next phase in their plan to destroy the Smurfs.
