Smurfs: The Lost Village is the current name for the Smurfs film by Sony Pictures Animation that is scheduled for production to be released in April 7, 2017. Unlike the previous two films based on the Smurfs by this company, this new film will be completely CGI-animated. Kelly Asbury (Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Shrek 2, Gnomeo & Juliet) will be the director, while Jordan Kerner (The Smurfs) and Mary Ellen Bauder (Hotel Transylvania) will be the producers.[1]

In this fully animated, all-new take on the Smurfs, a mysterious map sets Smurfette and her best friends Brainy, Clumsy and Hefty on an exciting and thrilling race through the Forbidden Forest filled with magical creatures to find a mysterious lost village before the evil wizard Gargamel does. Embarking on a rollercoaster journey full of action and danger, the Smurfs are on a course that leads to the discovery of the biggest secret in Smurf history! [2]
