Manfred the Magnificent only appeared in the Smurfs cartoon show Season 7 episode Chlorhydris' Lost Love. He was a wizard with whom Chlorhydris had fallen in love in her younger days when they had attended a school for sorcerers together, and eventually they decided to get married. However, he had previously been in love with Chlorhydris' rival at the same sorcerer's school, a vengeful witch named Drusilla, who lured him into her cave and turned him into a stone statue, preventing him from attending his wedding. Unaware of what had happened to him, Chlorhydris was left heartbroken, thus becoming the hateful, evil witch feared by everyone. Many years later, Manfred is restored by Vanity Smurf and Sassette Smurfling who reunite him with Chlorhydris, whom he still loves despite the fact that she has much aged and he hasn't, as a result of being turned into a stone statue for all this time. But the joyful reunion is cut short when he is accidentally sits on anti-Cupid's arrows that ironically were created by Chlorhydris herself, turning his love for her into hatred instead.
