King Aquarius is a merman who is the king of Atlantica and the father of Marina the mermaid. He first appeared in the cartoon show episode "Handy's Sweetheart" suffering from an illness that required lilyroot from the Pools of Avalon. Handy and the Smurfs brought the king to the Smurf Village where he would be taken care of along with his daughter. However, after he was cured, King Aquarius swam back home to Atlantica and was never seen again, but was once mentioned by Marina.
