Uh oh! Very Smurfy Non-canon warning: This article or section contains non-canonical information that is not considered to be an official part of the Smurfs Franco-Belgian comic book series, the 1980s Smurfs cartoon show series, or the 2021 Smurfs cartoon show series, and should not be considered part of the overall storyline of any of those media universes.

Gutsy Smurf (original French name Schtroumpf Téméraire) is a Smurf character that appeared in the 2011 The Smurfs movie. He was created for the film and does not appear in the comics or in the cartoon series. His appearance includes a Scottish kilt (to match his accent) worn over a white pair of pants and ginger or brown sideburns on his face (depending on his media presentation), something not normally found on an adult Smurf his age. Gutsy is also quite vicious and has a 'tough guy' personality.

He first appeared alongside Grouchy when Clumsy asked to join in the Blue Moon Festival dance, blocking his entry. Gutsy states "Your name is under 'Do not let in!'". He is one of the few Smurfs that travel through time to New York City and help the Smurfs find a way to open the portal in order to return to their own time and place.

Gutsy Smurf has a brief appearance in the early and late parts of The Smurfs 2, and was one of the three originally chosen by Papa Smurf to journey to modern-day Paris in order to rescue Smurfette from Gargamel (the other two were Hefty and Brainy), but was accidentally left out as the magic crystals used for traveling through time were instead ingested by Clumsy, Grouchy, and Vanity.

Gutsy appears as one of the main characters of the animated feature The Smurfs: The Legend Of Smurfy Hollow, where he deals with Brainy always winning the annual Smurfberry Hunt by scaring him away from a patch of smurfberries in Smurfy Hollow using a fake shadow cast of the Headless Horseman. Later on, he, Brainy, and Smurfette escape from the real Headless Horseman (which turns out to be a goat) by using a bat to fly to the top of the old, covered bridge that the Horseman cannot pass through.
