Daredevil Dust was a formula Gargamel created in the 1980s cartoon show episode "Reckless Smurfs" which made whoever was exposed to it behave in a reckless manner, causing them to do dangerous things that they would not normally do. It usually if not always gave its victim a feeling of overwhelming euphoria, with effects similar to the high of being on amphetamines and other types of stimulants. There is also an element of a drunken stupor that is evidenced in Lazy calling Gargamel "Garglesmell" when he and another Smurf were captured while under the influence of the Daredevil Dust.
Gargamel had spread the Daredevil Dust over the entire village, which affected every Smurf except for Greedy, who was busy working in his kitchen making up pooka nut icing, and thus made the Smurfs easy to catch as some just wandered off into the forest not caring about any danger they may walk into.
Brainy and Snappy, who were also not affected by the Daredevil Dust since it didn't fall upon them, soon found out that pooka nut icing acted as an antidote to the Daredevil Dust and thus splattered their fellow Smurfs and Papa Smurf with pooka nut icing, bringing them to their senses. Gargamel was the last victim of the Daredevil Dust as it spilled upon him, making the evil wizard so reckless that he blew up his laboratory while mixing random ingredients together to create a Smurf-destroying formula.
