Benny Breakiron (original French name Benoît Brisefer, translated "Benedict Ironbreaker") is the main character of Peyo's Benny Breakiron comic book series.
Personality[]
Benny is a polite little boy who possesses superhuman strength, speed, and leaping ability who uses these powers to fight crime in his neighborhood of Vivejoie-la-Grande, France. The only thing that can rob him of these abilities is catching a cold, which those who oppose him will try to cause him to have every chance they get. Sometimes Benny will seek to catch a cold just so he could live the life of a normal little boy, as his superhuman abilities keep him from making any friends because he always breaks their toys by accident.
As far as is known, no mention is ever made of Benny having parents or guardians of any kind. His last Peyo-written adventure, Le Fétiche ("The Fetish"), shows that a lady called Madam Minou takes care of his house and serves him breakfast, but lives in another part of town. Other than that, his only known relative is his Uncle Placide whom he sometimes stays with during the holidays.
He is friends with the independent taxi driver Jules Dussiflard, who in the story "The Red Taxis" deals with the sudden emergence of the Red Taxi Company, which is run by an unscrupulous person named Mr. Hairynose, who intends to use the company to rob the city blind.

In the film version of Lex Taxis Rouges, Benny is played by Leopold Huet.
