Argus is a human character who appears in the cartoon show special "The Smurfic Games". He is a wizard who is the cousin of Gargamel and is a good friend of Papa Smurf. At the beginning of the story, Gargamel visits Argus upon his death bed, who tells his cousin that he's leaving nothing for him, but that he has something important to take care of -- a powerful magical item called the Medallion Of Poseidon that must be disposed of before it falls into evil hands. Argus has a smurfberry bird deliver the medallion to Papa Smurf, who he knows will know what to do with it. After Argus faded away into nothingness, his castle and everything in it also faded into nothingness to prevent his cousin or anyone else from getting their hands on anything in it...though Gargamel managed to keep a single book which turned out to be the one for unlocking the power of the medallion.
